Dancehall sensation Shenseea is poised to unleash new music in the coming months, with plans to drop her sophomore album.
In an interview with Billboard News at Rolling Loud LA, the artist revealed that she is currently preparing to shoot the music video for her album’s lead single. “I’m really excited about that. I think it’s going to be amazing,” she enthused, while also teasing that fans can expect “dancehall that Americans can definitely love and understand” on the forthcoming project.
Shenseea, who recently had the privilege of meeting Kanye West, expressed her admiration for the iconic rapper, stating that she would relish the opportunity to collaborate with him again. However, the singer remained tight-lipped when pressed on whether the two have already worked on any joint projects.
The interview also touched on rumours that Prince Harry had found solace in Shenseea’s music during difficult times. An excerpt from the royal’s memoir supposedly claimed that “Her lyrics resonated with me and got me through a lot.” Although the rumour was never confirmed, Shenseea took it in stride, saying, “That was very much unexpected, to be honest, but big up to Prince Harry for tuning in.”
Despite several global economic and political events, Shenseea is looking ahead to a busy schedule of live performances, with an upcoming slot at the Coachella festival next month. There, she’ll treat fans to a selection of her biggest hits, showcasing her unique blend of dancehall, reggae, and pop.
