A lawsuit has been filed against businesswoman and blogger Shelly-Ann Curran by the legal team of former Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL) CEO, Mark Croskery.
The lawsuit stems from remarks allegedly made by Curran on her online talk show and the reposting of critical comments by social media users. Monique Morrison, Croskery’s lawyer, claims that her client is seeking aggravated damages due to false allegations made against him by Curran and the republished comments.
The lawsuit highlights that Curran has not responded to requests to take down the supposed defamatory content, which includes allegations that Croskery is a fugitive from the law. Morrison denies these allegations and asserts that her client is not involved in any fraud charges against SSL. She also refutes Curran’s attempts to link Croskery to Usain Bolt’s financial loss, stating that they are baseless and without merit.
According to Morrison, the lawsuit was filed due to the content of one YouTube video, three Instagram posts, and three Twitter posts published by Curran on or around January 23rd, 2023. The lawsuit has been filed in the Supreme Court in Kingston.
