Today, Sunday, February 5, marks a special day for reggae singer Kabaka Pyramid who emerged winner of the “Best Reggae Album” at the 65th edition of the annual GRAMMY Awards ceremony.
Making the announcement was Arturo O’Farrill at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles., California. “The Kalling” is Kabaka’s second studio effort. Accepting the award, Kabaka dressed in a black and earth-toned ensemble, thanked his team, and paid homage to his fellow nominees.
This marks Kabaka’s first nomination and win at the Grammys. Others nominees in the category were:
- Gifted – Koffee
- Scorcha – Sean Paul
- Third Time’s The Charm – Protoje
- Come Fly Wid Me – Shaggy
Later this evening, the main ceremony will get underway at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, where additional winners in the various categories will be announced.
