Monday’s hearing in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court in Half-Way-Tree involving the alleged bribery case against embattled music producer Linval “Shab Don” Thompson Jr. was recessed until next year.

In a statement to the media, Donahue Martin, the accused’s attorney, explained that his client remains in custody in relation to another case before the judiciary.
“He is currently remanded in custody for another case, which we vehemently deny, and we intend to make an application in short order, once the case files are ready,” Martin declared.
According to documents submitted to the court, last October, Romario “BMR” Scott and co-accused Thompson Jr. were arrested and charged after an illegal firearm and ammunition were found in their possession during a police traffic stop in Old Harbour, St. Catherine.
Shabdon was subsequently acquitted of the illegal gun and ammunition charges against him but was accused of trying to bribe a police officer.
The allegations purport that he offered a law enforcement officer $2 million to remove the illegal weapon from his grey Mercedes-Benz before the authorities searched it.
The music producer remains in police custody in connection with a triple murder and will appear before the St. James parish court on Thursday, December 1. Shabdon was arrested in June and accused of three counts of murder for an incident that occurred on May 25 on Marl Road, Rose Heights, St. James.
