After making headlines last month for criticism levelled against the Jamaica Observer for highlighting her loss in the ‘Push Performance of the Year’ category at the recent MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Dancehall star Shenseea is now gearing up for an assignment at New York City’s Rolling Loud.
The three-day festival, which gets underway on September 23-25 at Citi Field in Queens, New York, will see the Best hitmaker and dancehall frontrunner Skillibeng representing Jamaica.
Skillibeng will make his debut on Friday, September 23, while Shenseea, no stranger to the concert series, will take centre stage on Saturday, September 24.
The “Whap Whap” deejay will headline alongside Caribbean compatriot Nicki Minaj. At the same time, Shenseea will open the penultimate proceeding for Rihanna’s beau A$ap Rocky on Saturday. Trending hip-hop star Future will close the three-day activities as Sunday’s headliner.
Other billed acts included Skillibeng and Govana’s collaborator Fivio Foreign, Savage 21, Erica Banks, Busta Rhymes, Lil Uzi Vert, Pusha T, Lil Baby and Dream Doll, among others.
