In an unexpected move, multi-award-winning rap star Nicki Minaj has included a new song to her greatest hits compilation Queen Radio: Volume 1.
Early Sunday morning, the self-styled “Queen of Rap” took to social media to unveil the cover art amid announcing that a remix of Jamaican dancehall sensation Skeng’s Likkle Miss has been officially added to the 29-track compilation released Friday.
Since then, the single has shot to the No.10 spot on the US iTunes 100 Singles chart and No.42 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart and continues to experience an upward trend in streams. This accomplishment also denotes Skeng’s first official entries into the respective charts.
Skeng’s Likkle Miss was initially released less than two months ago, for which the accompanying video has amassed over 2.7 million views to date. Earlier this month, Minaj hinted that she was “writing my verse” for “Likkle Miss” in an Instagram selfie video.
Meanwhile, in honour of her first solo No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with Super Freaky Girl, she posted an Instagram video with a bouquet of pink flowers, bottles of pink champagne, and footage of her son playing with pink balloons that spelt out the song’s title and “#1.”
This Sunday, Minaj will be presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and perform on the MTV Video Music Awards broadcast for the first time since 2018.
