Fresh from a performance at the Portland Jerk Festival, where he delivered another of his signature energy-filled sets, dancehall star Laa Lee is now gearing up for his New York City debut.
On Sunday, July 31, the Bong Bing hitmaker will invade the Big Apple for an inaugural performance at this year’s Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival at the Roy Wilkins Park in Queens.
The bill will also feature compatriots Protoje, Lila Ike, Christopher Martin, Romain Virgo and emerging British sensation Cristale.
Later this week, he’ll be jetting off to Bridgeport, Connecticut, for a Friday showcase, ahead of an assignment at Reggae Sumfest on July 22
Currently one of the hottest tickets in dancehall, Laa Lee has secured another corporate endorsement. In his latest quest, the entertainer landed a campaign with global beverage giant Pepsi. His first came courtesy of telecommunication company Digicel.
Dubbed the “Bong Bing Challenge”, the campaign sees the dancehall star encouraging fans to record themselves showing off their best ‘Bong Bing’ dance moves while drinking Pepsi. Winners will subsequently get a chance to meet him and win tickets to this year’s staging of Reggae Sumfest.
