After securing the prestigious “Album of the Year – Dancehall” award at last Thursday’s inaugural Caribbean Music Awards in Brooklyn, New York, dancehall frontrunner Masicka continued his triumphant streak with the highly successful Streetz Festival at the National Stadium car park over the weekend.
Now, in its third instalment, the Saturday night event was a treat for dancehall enthusiasts, delivering an atmosphere filled with surprises and captivating performances.
The festival, which had previously been hosted in St Ann, made its mark in the Corporate Area with appearances by renowned artists like Jahshii, Lila Iké, Chronic Law, Tarrus Riley, Malie Donn, Popcaan, and 10tik. Fans erupted joyously as Masicka, named Javaun Fearon, took the stage and invited fellow entertainers to join him. Each artist expressed gratitude for the platform and celebrated Masicka’s remarkable growth.
One of the night’s biggest highlights came when Masicka delivered his highly anticipated track “Tyrant” in the wee hours of Sunday morning, concluding the festivities with an explosive performance. However, the evening was not without its challenges; Prism Marketing Consultants understands that two patrons fainted during the show, prompting the “Update” hitmaker to call for immediate medical assistance for the overwhelmed fans. Despite these incidents, the crowd remained enthralled as Masicka unpacked his growing catalogue of hits.
The event was successful thanks to partnerships with Dragon Stout, Pepsi, Willcom Creative, Elite Creations, and SMA Talent Agency. Streetz Festival proved to be a resounding triumph for Masicka, further solidifying his status as a rising star in the dancehall scene and leaving fans eagerly anticipating his next performance.
