Renowned reggae icon Sizzla Kalonji continues his musical journey with the launch of his second album this year, titled “The I-Grade,” hot on the heels of a triumphant two-week tour of Japan earlier in the year.
Following the release of his 13-track album “Run Tingz” on April 24th, “The I-Grade” is a resonant continuation. This album delves into a spectrum of themes, ranging from love and consciousness to unity and success. The Rastafarian crooner offerings on “The I-Grade” retain their characteristic potency, delivering an array of styles and melodies that captivate and uplift listeners. Unveiled on August 11th through a collaboration between Izreal Records, Sonovic Music, and Kalonji Music Production, the compilation is now accessible on all major digital and streaming platforms.
With a legacy spanning from the 90s, Sizzla’s musical output has consistently blended edification and entertainment. His enduring vigour ensures a lasting presence in the industry’s landscape, poised to advance his influence.
Probing his previous album, the rollout for “Run Tingz” commenced in 2022, marked by impactful releases such as “Inna Mi Brain” and “Sure Bout,” subsequently followed by “Galang Bad” and “All This Love” in early 2023. Produced by Lead Out Productions and Kalonji Music Productions, the album notably features a guest appearance by King Dawad. The compilation title seamlessly aligns with Sizzla’s independent ethos, reflective of his distinctive approach to managing his music career.
In the realm of reggae, Sizzla Kalonji remains an esteemed and celebrated figure, leaving an indelible mark on the genre.
