Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated biopic “Bob Marley: One Love,” set to hit theatres in 2024.
The film delves into the life and legacy of the iconic Jamaican singer and songwriter, with Kingsley Ben-Adir, known for his roles in “Peaky Blinders” and “The OA,” portraying Marley. The trailer initially celebrates Marley’s musical genius, showcasing him performing to adoring fans, but gradually shifts to explore the tumultuous backdrop of Jamaica’s civil unrest in the 1970s.
The teaser culminates in the lead-up to the One Love Peace Concert, where Marley faces a question about returning to Jamaica following an assassination attempt on him and his wife. Ben-Adir, in a composed manner, responds, “My life is not important to me. My life is for people.” The actor revealed that the Marley family played an integral role during production, with daily involvement on set.
