Dancehall artiste iWaata has revealed in an interview with Zip 103fm that he is currently “lost in music” as he prepares to release two new projects. Clarifying the statement, the deejay, who recently became a father, notes that music is the only thing he has time for besides family. Explaining that he only parties when he’s promoting his music because it’s crucial to be “active in the streets and get the thing up.”
The first project is an eight-track EP titled ‘Neptune‘, featuring production from various industry players, including ZJ Liquid, who is responsible for his current single “More Fire” on the Pied Piper rhythm compilation. One of the unique elements of this compilation is iWaata’s exploration more into production with tracks like “CPM“.
The second project entails a multi-genre mixtape titled “Then and Now“, supporting the release of the EP. The title alludes to iWaata’s musical evolution from his original stage name to his newly adopted moniker, “Play Gad“. The mixtape will feature a range of offerings that showcases his lyrical prowess and growth since his emergence in the music industry.
Both projects are due for release at the end of summer.
