Dancehall artiste Munga Honorable, given name Damian Rhoden, and his co-defendant Sherdian Gordon have had their murder trial postponed to February 17, 2025, in the Home Circuit Court. The charges relate to their alleged involvement in the 2017 killing of Cleveland Smith.
Despite the trial originally scheduled to begin today (Monday, May 29), it was unable to proceed due to personal challenges faced by Munga’s attorney, Christopher Townsend. Consequently, a new trial date has been set, accompanied by a trial readiness hearing on November 4, 2024. Sherdian Gordon is being represented by King’s Counsel Peter Champagnie. In the meantime, their bail has been extended by Justice Leighton Pusey.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at an event in Ackee Walk, St. Andrew, where Smith, the nephew of fellow entertainer Mr. Vegas, was confronted by a group of men, one of whom was reportedly armed. A heated altercation ensued, resulting in Smith being shot and subsequently pronounced dead at the Kingston Public Hospital. Prior to his tragic demise, Smith had allegedly attacked Munga Honorable with a machete.
Musically, the Gangsta Ras continues to promise his latest studio album, “Conundrum” the 13-track compilation was released on August 19, 2022.

Conundrum is the follow-up to his 2020 album Shine You Light and the fifth compilation since his emergence. Previous releases include Fiery (EP) in 2019, Excuse Me (EP) in 2015 and his debut album Bad From Me Born, released in 2007.
