Dancehall stalwart Bounty Killer has been using his foundation and philanthropic endeavours to assist the less fortunate members of society in living normal lives. Recently, the entertainer embarked on a new mission by presenting an electric wheelchair to Andre Coleman, a young man who has been struggling with a disability since birth.
Andre was born with spina bifida, a birth defect caused by his mother’s diabetes, which resulted in both his legs being bent under, forcing him to move using his hands. Due to his disability, Andre faced difficulties as a youngster enrolling in a primary school. However, the Ministry of Education intervened to ensure he received an education.
Matriculating into high school and being placed at Penwood High, the institution’s facilities were not designed to accommodate students with disabilities. Consequently, the Ministry of Education relocated Andre to Mona High School, where students and teachers welcomed him warmly.
Fast-forward to present times, after initially meeting Andre, Bounty was moved by his plight and decided to intervene to ease the perils of his daily life. The Warlord presented Andre with an automatic-operated wheelchair, which he shared on his official Instagram account. The wheelchair is estimated to cost between U$2000 – 2,500 (over J$350,000).
Bounty Killer’s Instagram post read, “Presentation made today to Andre Coleman with an automatic operated wheelchair need not even say the cost y’all can look at it and go google the price congratulations little bredda finally u gotten the perfect one kaboooom?.”
Bounty Killer’s gesture has brought hope and relief to Andre, who is now able to move around with greater ease. The deejay’s philanthropic efforts continue to inspire others to help those in need and make a difference in society.
