Over the past three years, event organizers have faced numerous challenges due to the pandemic, resulting in many events being postponed. One such event is the Unruly Fest hosted by dancehall star Popcaan, which has been on hiatus since its last staging in 2019.
However, the Unruly Boss has announced the return of the St. Thomas-based event, slated to get underway later this year after being abruptly halted in 2020.
The ‘Forever’ hitmaker made the revelation via an Instagram post on Friday, March 31, stating that the end-of-year event will return on December 22. Although no granular details were provided, anticipation remains high as fans revel in the announcement of the good news. In 2019 the event was staged at the Good Year Oval in St. Thomas and Lyssons Park in 2018.
Fans of Popcaan had anticipated the event’s return last year. Instead, the artiste encouraged patrons to support him at Burna Boy’s Love Damini world tour concert, held on December 18 at the National Stadium in Kingston.
Known for its top-notch production, Unruly Fest previously featured performances from numerous local and international stars, including Drake, Skillibeng, Chronic law, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, and Bugle, among others.
