Dancehall A-lister Popcaan, who recently secured five nominations at the upcoming International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA), including “Best Album” and “Entertainer of the Year,” is preparing to embark on his “Great Is He Tour” in Europe and the United Kingdom in the weeks ahead.
The Unruly Boss is set to perform in 14 cities, including Paris, Dublin, Glasgow, Bristol, Tilburg, Brussels, Zurich, Stockholm, Olso, Copenhagen, Berlin, Frankfurt, Madrid, and London. The tour will commence on May 6th in Salle Pleyel, France, culminating on July 8th in Finsbury Park, Britain.
Popcaan took to his official Instagram account to announce the excursion, posting a graphic of his album cover art with tour dates and locations, captioned, “Great is he tour kicking off!! Rd time #GiHE #live jah jah god.”
“Great Is He” Popcaan’s fifth studio album, released on January 27th, 2023, features Canadian rapper Drake, Afrobeat superstar Burna Boy, Chronic Law, and dancehall newcomer Toni-Ann Singh. The 17-track set peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and sold 3,200 album equivalent units.
Meanwhile, Popcaan met with American entertainer and businessman Chance The Rapper and his associate Vic Mensa on Monday; both men are currently on the island organizing plans for the second staging of next year’s Black Star Line Festival.
