On Wednesday, popular Nigerian musician Wizkid took to social media to share some unfortunate news with his fans – his highly-anticipated More Love, Less Ego tour has been postponed to Fall 2023.
The artist made the announcement via his Instagram stories, apologizing for any inconvenience caused and promising that all tickets purchased for the original tour dates will be honoured on the new dates at the respective venues.
Initially, the More Love, Less Ego tour was set to kick off on March 3 with a show at Houston’s Toyota Center. It included stops in 20 cities across the United States and Canada, including Dallas, Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Montreal, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Phoenix, and more. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the tour has had to be postponed for several months.
This was a disappointing blow to fans eagerly anticipating Wizkid’s live shows, especially given that the More Love, Less Ego tour was supposed to coincide with the release of the artist’s fifth studio album of the same name. Nevertheless, Wizkid remains one of the most successful and respected musicians in Nigeria and across the continent of Africa, having won numerous awards for his music and collaborations with other international stars.
Last November, Wizkid made headlines with a sold-out concert at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, followed by a performance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
