Dancehall songstress Shenseea, continues to broaden her musical repertoire through collaboration with a multitude of international acts. One of her most recent efforts with Puerto Rican singer and composer Rauw Alejandro on the song Red Velvet has garnered her a credit on an album nominated for a Latin Grammy.
Red Velvet was released in February and marked Shenseea’s debut on a reggaeton single. The single forms part of the nine-track album Trap Cake Volume 2 by Rauw, dubbed the “King of Modern Reggaeton.” Accomplished Jamaican artiste and producer Rvssian also appeared on the album with the song Fvck Ux2.
Shenseea noted the achievement with a celebratory post via her Instagram stories with a photo of co-manager Donny “Dizzy Clean Face” Flores celebrating the artist’s nomination for Best Urban Music Album on Trap Cake Volume 2. The CEO of We Good LLC also acknowledged her as a writer.
The Latin Grammy Awards 2022 will be held on Thursday, November 17. However, according to Latin Grammy regulations, the artist is not directly nominated and cannot receive an award if the record wins its category. Similar to her appearances on the albums Music Is the Weapon by Major Lazer and Studying Abroad: Extended Stay by Masego, both nominated for Best Dancehall/Electronic Music Album and Best Progressive R&B Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, respectively.
