The impending collaboration between dancehall superstar Popcaan and American rapper Post Malone demonstrates the Unruly Boss continued dominance within the dancehall genre.
One of the most impactful entertainers of this current generation of Jamaican acts, Popcaan’s forthcoming collaboration with multi-Grammy-Award-winner Post Malone only serves to further solidify his status as one of the best to pick up a microphone.
News of the project was confirmed last week by Dre London, manager of Malone, during an interview. London hinted that he was instrumental in establishing the connection between both artists and the upcoming collaboration from a prior encounter in the United Kingdom.
No stranger to high-profile collaborations, the We Pray deejay has previously worked with several A-Listers, including Gorillaz, Giggs, Burna Boy, Drake, Davido, Young Thug, Maroon 5, and Steflon Don.
Speaking of accomplishments, last Wednesday, Popcaan was pleasantly surprised following an announcement that his 2015 collaborative hit “I Know There’s Gonna Be” (Good Times), featuring American rapper Young Thug and British producer and disc jock Jamie xx, was certified platinum in Canada.
Featured on Jamie xx’s 2015 debut album In Colour, the single secured the certification issued by Music Canada based on conflated sales and streaming data, resulting in over 80,000 units moved.
