Rastafarian crooner Teflon is expected to release his latest studio effort, Tears of Joy, later this month. Not many details about the project regarding production and featured collaborators have been disclosed, except that it will become available on all major digital and streaming platforms on Friday, September 16.
Tears of Joy will follow last year’s 19-track album Years A Pain and his 2022 EP Acknowledge Me or Not, Love Me for Me.
Speaking with the media back in February about Acknowledge Me or Not, Love Me for Me, the Rastafarian crooner says the intriguing title is self-explanatory and conveys the message to music lovers to accept him as is. It’s ok if they don’t, but he will continue to be himself regardless.
The compilation conflates several genres, including Reggae, Dancehall, Hip Hop, R&B and even elements of the controversial trap dancehall.
Teflon intimates that the inclusion of trap dancehall was his way of reaching the current generation while still conveying his original message.
Acknowledge Me or Not, Love Me for Me is released on the “Gun Rise” hitmaker Yaad a Love Records imprint, with digital streaming and distribution courtesy of Distrokid.
