Jamaican reggae singer D’Yani is stepping into a pivotal moment in his career, but as international expectations grow, one question is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore: is he ready to become Jamaica’s next global reggae star? The question comes as D’Yani prepares to release his debut album LLAP (Live Life & Prosper) on August 21, following his signing with UK-based independent powerhouse Lizzy Records and growing momentum around his music.

D’Yani’s international prospects have attracted strong backing from Lizzy Records, which signed him as its first Jamaican artiste as the London-based company expands its presence beyond the UK. Demonie “Squidell” Wilson, the label’s A&R, described D’Yani as a “great addition to the label” and said the partnership could elevate his career to the next level. The endorsement carries weight as D’Yani joins a company that has built a reputation for developing culturally significant talent and expanding its international reach.

The singer also has momentum of his own. Songs such as “Live a Little” and “Journey” have helped establish his profile, with the latter surpassing 100,000 YouTube views within days of its release while generating thousands of streams across digital platforms. Producer Kareem “Remus” Burrell, who is overseeing D’Yani’s upcoming album, has credited the singer’s authenticity and work ethic for the response to “Journey”. Meanwhile, the unveiling of LLAP’s official cover art and 11-track tracklist has sparked a wave of positive reactions from fans and industry peers on social media.

But potential is not the same as international stardom. Jamaica has produced some of reggae and dancehall’s biggest global names, creating an exceptionally high standard for any artiste being positioned for an international breakthrough. For D’Yani, the Lizzy Records partnership provides access to global marketing and distribution infrastructure through the label’s relationship with ADA, but the real test will be whether he can convert that backing and current buzz into sustained streams, international audiences, major performances and long-term commercial impact.

With LLAP featuring “Journey”, “Live a Little”, “Dutchpot”, “On and On”, “Blooming”, “Miss You Bad”, “Love Is Infinite”, “Fi Mi Mama”, “Joy Come a Morning”, “Clasp Your Hands” and “Jah Has Been Too Good”, D’Yani now has an opportunity to make a much bigger statement. Lizzy Records believes he is a great addition. Fans appear increasingly convinced. The August 21 release of LLAP could begin to reveal whether D’Yani has what it takes to turn that promise into Jamaica’s next global reggae success story.
