Legendary hip-hop trio The LOX has joined forces with Grammy-winning reggae star Keznamdi on a hard-hitting remix of “Bun Di Ganja”, featuring Mavado and Marlon Asher, lifted from his sophomore album Blxxd & Fyah—dropping at a pivotal moment as the Jamaican singer prepares to battle for top honours at the International Reggae and World Music Awards in Florida next month.
Released via Roc Nation distribution and produced by Major Seven, the remix fuses gritty New York lyricism with roots reggae consciousness and dancehall edge. The track leans into themes of emotional ease and escapism, with its chorus framing cannabis as a source of calm and stress relief. It also signals a deliberate crossover move, placing Keznamdi alongside established hip-hop voices while preserving the authenticity of his reggae sound.
The collaboration extends the global momentum generated by Blxxd & Fyah, which secured Best Reggae Album at the 68th Grammy Awards earlier this year. For Keznamdi, the remix represents more than just a feature—it is a strategic step in expanding reggae’s reach through cross-genre partnerships. The inclusion of Mavado and Marlon Asher further strengthens the Caribbean identity of the record, balancing international appeal with regional credibility.
Meanwhile, attention now turns to the International Reggae and World Music Awards, where Keznamdi is nominated for Best Album (Blxxd & Fyah) and Best Song for “Forever Grateful” featuring Masicka. Reflecting on the recognition, he previously noted that while global accolades are meaningful, validation from the Caribbean carries unmatched significance. With a major remix in rotation and award season approaching, Keznamdi’s upward trajectory shows no signs of slowing.
