Jamaican songstress Tanya Stephens is set to depart the island this week for a performance in St. Maarten. Flashback Jam, arguably one of the most well-attended events on the small Caribbean nation’s social calendar, will see Stephens invading the stage as she serves up her cadre of hits on Saturday, August 27.
Hosted by Thirty Seven Twenty One Entertainment at the Belair Community Center., the organisers are confident that she is the perfect fit for what has become one of St. Maarten’s largest old-school dancehall offerings.
The performance comes amid continued work on her eighth studio album, Some Kinda Madness, forecasted for release on September 2. Tad’s Records will distribute the project; the Jamaican-based music outfit has worked extensively with Stephens in the past.
Aside from the album, promotion continues on her latest releases, Diamonds In The Sun and Fifty, the former a collaborative effort with Cedella Marley and Diana King. At the same time, the latter features iconic female dancehall veteran Patra.
