Shenseea is making an international chart statement with her new EP Catalyst, securing three No. 1 positions across the United States and Caribbean while extending the project’s presence into 12 African markets. Released on November 6, the eight-track project debuted at No. 1 on the US iTunes Reggae Albums chart and also reached No. 1 on iTunes in Anguilla and the British Virgin Islands. Its African chart footprint includes No. 9 in Seychelles, No. 23 in Sierra Leone, No. 34 in Malawi, No. 61 in Uganda and No. 63 in both Kenya and Nigeria.

The November 8 chart snapshot also shows Catalyst making appearances in Zimbabwe at No. 80, Benin at No. 92, Tanzania at No. 133, Ghana at No. 182, Mali at No. 194 and Madagascar at No. 197 on Apple Music. Beyond Africa, the EP has registered across 28 territories on Apple Music, with its strongest position at No. 3 in the Cayman Islands. It also reached No. 5 in Jamaica, No. 8 in Belize and Dominica, and No. 16 in Barbados. These placements highlight the project’s broad international reach just days after its release.

The individual tracks are also finding audiences across different markets. “Playtime”, Shenseea’s collaboration with Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake, appears at No. 170 on Spotify in Nigeria and No. 109 on Apple Music in the same market. The track also reached No. 104 in Gambia and Seychelles, and No. 135 in Sierra Leone on Apple Music. Meanwhile, “Garden” reached No. 2 on iTunes in the British Virgin Islands, while “Foreplay” appeared at No. 17 on Apple Music in Anguilla.

Featuring Asake, Vybz Kartel and Florida rapper Loe Shimmy, Catalyst brings together Dancehall, Afrobeats and hip-hop influences across eight tracks. The project also marks a reunion between Shenseea and Kartel, nearly a decade after their 2016 collaboration “Loodi”. It follows her Grammy-nominated 2024 sophomore album Never Gets Late Here and represents another step in her continued push towards international audiences.

With three No. 1 chart positions and a presence across 12 African markets, Catalyst is already delivering a significant early international showing. The coming weeks will reveal whether Shenseea can convert that initial chart visibility into sustained momentum.
