Masicka has joined Buju Banton as the only Jamaican artistes with 2026 albums to spend two consecutive weeks inside the Top 10 of the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. The dancehall deejay’s third studio album, Forever Reign, slipped from No. 4 to No. 9 in its second week, extending a run that now places him alongside one of reggae and dancehall’s most celebrated figures. Just weeks ago, Buju stood alone after Too Too Bad opened at No. 8 and followed with a No. 10 placement, but Masicka has now matched the sustained Top 10 feat.
The milestone adds another major chapter to Masicka’s impressive Billboard record. All three of his studio albums have now debuted inside the chart’s Top 5, with 438 opening at No. 2 in 2021, Generation of Kings also reaching No. 2 in 2023, and Forever Reign arriving at No. 4 in August. The latest project, released on August 14 via Def Jam Recordings, features Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Kraff Gad, Blaqbonez and Lila Iké.
Meanwhile, Masicka’s momentum is extending beyond Billboard. Forever Reign has spent more than two weeks at No. 1 on the Apple Music Jamaica Albums chart, while tracks such as “1 Psalm”, “Honor Roll”, “Oak Tree” and “Cross The Waters” continue to draw attention. The project’s opening week also marked the highest debut by a Jamaican dancehall act on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart in 2026.
Masicka has also become the most-viewed artiste on YouTube in Jamaica, overtaking Chronic Law in the latest 28-day stats, ending Law Boss’s seven-month run atop the local ranking. With a rare Billboard distinction now shared with Buju Banton and his digital dominance growing at home, Masicka’s Forever Reign era is quickly becoming one of the biggest periods of his career.
