Chronic Law is making a fresh bid for bail as newly released court records add significant new details to the Jamaican dancehall star’s ongoing US legal battle, including the reported revocation of his O-1B visa and prosecutors’ allegations of a musical and gang feud involving fellow artiste Malie Donn. Attorney Ana Davide is seeking to overturn the decision keeping Chronic Law, whose given name is Ackeme Jermane Campbell, in federal custody. The latest filings come as the entertainer’s federal firearms trial remains scheduled for October 26.

The bail application follows an earlier decision to keep Chronic Law detained after prosecutors argued that he presented a flight risk and a danger to the community. During those proceedings, prosecutors reportedly cited alleged earnings of up to US$500,000 per performance and an estimated net worth of up to US$2 million, while also pointing to a reported jailhouse statement in which the entertainer expressed a desire to return home. FBI Agent Andrew Nelson additionally testified about an alleged feud between Chronic Law and Malie Donn, including claims concerning gang affiliations and threats exchanged through music and social media. These are allegations presented by prosecutors and testimony in court, and have not been established as facts.

The newly reported immigration records provide another important piece of the timeline. According to the September 17 report, Chronic Law’s O-1B visa was revoked on January 2, 2026, following his November 2025 arrest in Georgia. ICE detained him in Miami 10 days later, on January 12. After approximately 10 weeks in custody, Immigration Judge Anthony Maingot terminated the removal proceeding on March 18. The report says the judge found that Chronic Law was not removable under the circumstances surrounding when the visa revocation became effective. His current visa is reported to expire in May 2027, after which he would need to reapply if he wants to return to the United States.

Meanwhile, the federal firearms case continues to move towards trial. Authorities allege that four firearms, 92 rounds of ammunition and five magazines were found in the vehicle Chronic Law was driving during his November 2025 Georgia arrest, with one firearm reportedly stolen in Florida. Agent Nelson also testified that Chronic Law allegedly acknowledged possessing the weapons and said they were used in music videos. Chronic Law has pleaded not guilty to being an alien in possession of a firearm. His attorney has argued that he is not a flight risk and that his creative expression should not be interpreted as evidence that he poses a danger to the community.

For Chronic Law, the latest bail application could become another pivotal moment before the October 26 trial. The court’s decision is pending, while the competing arguments over his freedom, immigration status and alleged public-safety risk continue to place his US future under intense scrutiny.
