The dancehall star is set to host the cruise’s special Jamaican beach experience, adding a distinctly Jamaican touch to the milestone voyage as Love & Harmony celebrates a decade of bringing Caribbean music and culture to the high seas.
Aidonia’s latest announcement comes on the heels of a significant career recognition. The Jamaican deejay was recently presented with a BPI-certified Platinum disc for the contribution of his dancehall recording Fi Di Jockey to It’s My Birthday, the 2014 will.i.am and Cody Wise collaboration that topped the Official UK Singles Chart and spent 17 weeks on the chart. More than a decade after the international success of the song, the honour has placed a fresh spotlight on Aidonia’s role in a record that helped carry Jamaican dancehall sounds into mainstream global pop.
Now, the focus shifts from a career milestone to a major live entertainment experience. Love & Harmony’s 2027 sailing will run from May 6 to 11 aboard the Norwegian Jewel, with Beres Hammond once again at the centre of the musical experience. The anniversary voyage will feature concerts, themed parties, DJ experiences, comedy, karaoke, games, poolside activities and Caribbean cuisine, with more artistes and entertainment still to be announced. For Aidonia, the cruise also provides an opportunity to connect directly with fans during a landmark year for the long-running Caribbean music event.
The 10th-anniversary sailing is being positioned as more than a music cruise, with organisers placing particular emphasis on family and community as the event coincides with Mother’s Day weekend. Children aged 12 and under are also set to sail free, subject to applicable taxes and fees, adding to the family-focused offering. Meanwhile, Aidonia’s involvement gives the anniversary celebration an additional dancehall edge, particularly with the artiste set to host the Jamaican destination experience.
