With just 12 days remaining until the release of his highly anticipated third studio album, Forever Reign, Masicka is ramping up his international promotional campaign with a series of high-profile appearances across North America and Europe. The Genasyde deejay has recently made a surprise cameo alongside French Montana at Hot 97 Summer Jam, performed at Summerjam in Germany and Reggaeland in the United Kingdom, featured on OkayAfrica, and stopped by London’s BOXPARK for a session with DJ AG, among several other platforms. The global push comes as only four Jamaican albums—Alkaline’s NPT, Protoje’s The Art of Acceptance, Vybz Kartel’s God & Time and Buju Banton’s Too Too Bad—have reached the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart in 2026, fuelling speculation over whether Masicka can become the fifth Jamaican artiste to join the list.
The anticipation surrounding Forever Reign has been building steadily for months. Scheduled for release on August 14, the project arrives just one day before Masicka headlines Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, creating what many fans believe could become one of the defining weekends of his career. The timing has only heightened expectations, particularly after the deejay described the album as “a masterpiece” during a recent interview with Reggaeville. He revealed that listeners can expect “a lot of vulnerability, a lot of motivational songs” as well as several unexpected collaborations, while crediting producers Dunw3ll, Kabba and Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor among those contributing to the project.
Masicka’s confidence is backed by an impressive Billboard track record. His debut album 438 and sophomore release Generation of Kings both peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart in 2021 and 2023 respectively, establishing him as one of dancehall’s strongest commercial performers in the streaming era. Those achievements, combined with five Caribbean Music Awards nominations this year and a growing international profile, have positioned Forever Reign as one of the genre’s most anticipated releases of 2026.
Whether Forever Reign ultimately secures a Billboard Reggae Albums Chart debut remains to be seen, but the countdown has already become one of dancehall’s biggest talking points. If the album delivers on the promise Masicka has outlined and converts its global momentum into chart success, the lyricist could soon add another milestone to his career while extending Jamaica’s presence on one of reggae’s most closely watched international charts.
