Jamaican songstress Spice is proving once again that her power goes beyond the stage. On Wednesday, the “Queen of the Dancehall” personally led a massive relief effort in Bethel Town, Westmoreland, deploying 10 trucks loaded with construction materials and other supplies to help residents rebuild homes and their lives devastated by Hurricane Melissa. Through her foundation, @gracehamilton_wef, Spice delivered what she called “starter packages” including blocks, cement, steel, lumber, nails, and hurricane straps — giving families the tools to start anew.

The effort wasn’t just about supplies. Spice also rented a backhoe and a dumpster truck to clear roads blocked by fallen trees, ensuring the convoy reached those most in need. One truck was dedicated to care packages and clothing from @gracinoir. Sharing updates on Instagram, she emphasised her commitment: “Nothing was stopping me from getting these trucks to the people who are now homeless because of the Hurricane.”

Spice’s mission was bolstered by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), who accompanied her for safety. She singled out Senior Superintendent Damion Manderson and Corporal Moesha Allen for their leadership, highlighting the importance of unity in community rebuilding. “This act of unity exemplifies the collective effort required to rebuild and uplift Jamaica, one community at a time,” she noted.

Fans and followers immediately praised Spice for her hands-on involvement, noting that she’s taking humanitarian work to another level — not just donating, but managing logistics and ensuring the materials reach the people directly affected. This initiative cements her role as a socially conscious artist who uses her platform to make tangible change.

With her example, Spice is setting a standard for Caribbean artists and public figures. While the music world waits for her next hit, communities in Westmoreland are already feeling the impact of her generosity — one truck, one home, and one act of care at a time.
