In a stunning testament to the power of digital music culture, TikTok has shattered livestreaming records by drawing more than 74 million unique viewers to its coverage of Tomorrowland 2025 — marking a whopping 362.5% increase from the 16 million viewers recorded in 2023. This historic feat solidifies the platform’s dominance in the music livestreaming space and underscores the growing influence of electronic music on global youth audiences.

Engagement surrounding the two-week Belgian festival reached unprecedented levels. The #Tomorrowland hashtag generated a jaw-dropping 2.4 billion views, while the festival’s official TikTok account added 1.9 million new followers, bringing its total to 9.2 million. Artists featured during the event collectively gained 3 million followers and amassed 580 million video views, thanks in part to TikTok’s onsite Content Studio and its tight integration with the festival’s immersive production.

Electronic music, already a fan favorite on TikTok, continues to thrive — with content under #electronicmusic now crossing 36 billion views. “Electronic music is one of the biggest genres on TikTok, and Tomorrowland is a truly unique experience that showcases electronic music in all its glory,” said Michael Kümmerle, Global Head of Music Partnership Development at TikTok. The platform’s year-long partnership with Tomorrowland appears to be yielding powerful returns, both for creators and fans alike.

TikTok’s music arm, SoundOn, also made waves by partnering with Tomorrowland Music to host a songwriting camp in Brussels. Tracks like Alan Walker’s Heartbreak Melody, born out of that collaboration, quickly became viral hits — the song clocked 4 million streams in two weeks and became the most-saved track using TikTok’s ‘Add to Music App’ feature. “It was great to combine some of the very best SoundOn artists, DJs and producers with some amazing, fresh talent that we were working with for the first time,” noted Nichal Sethi, Head of SoundOn EMEA.

The milestone moment comes as TikTok ramps up its investment in live content. In addition to the new LIVE Fan Club feature, the platform recently announced a collaboration with iHeartRadio for a live music competition spotlighting emerging talent. With 130 million creators going live daily, and the global livestreaming market expected to soar past $256 billion by 2032, TikTok is positioning itself as more than just a short-form video app — it’s fast becoming the digital epicenter of modern music culture.
