Travis Scott knows how to build hype—and reward loyalty. As the Grammy-nominated rapper ramps up promotion for the highly anticipated Jackboys 2 compilation album, he’s taken generosity to the next level by gifting several customised Lamborghinis to key collaborators featured on the project. Among the lucky recipients: 21 Savage, Waka Flocka Flame, Cactus Jack and Jamaican dancehall icon Vybz Kartel, all of whom proudly showcased their Italian-engineered beasts across social media, fueling excitement around the release.
The timing couldn’t be more symbolic for Vybz Kartel, who’s riding high on the momentum of his second UK Silver certification. His 2011 summer anthem Summer Time was officially certified silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) on June 27, marking over 200,000 units sold and streamed in the United Kingdom. Produced by Swedish hitmaker Adde Instrumentals, the track continues to be a seasonal staple with over 111 million views on YouTube. “Summer Time is one of those records that defines an era—and to see it still thriving globally while Kartel is staging a major comeback is a testament to his enduring influence,” noted one British critic.
While fans were initially hoping Jackboys 2 would arrive on Scott’s birthday back in April, the wait appears nearly over. Scott has since confirmed the album is available for pre-order, complete with new merchandise and a promise that it’s dropping “soon as f**k.” On Instagram, he cryptically teased, “Jackboys album brazy. I just threw up. Certified.” He’s also hinted at plans to return to WWE following the album’s release, sharing dramatic photos from WrestleMania 41 with the caption: “I DONT WANT A RECEIPT I WANT BLOOOODDD AFTER JACKBOYS 2 I NEEEEEDDD THAT.”
Adding to the buzz is an upcoming film directed by Harmony Korine to accompany the album. Known for his offbeat visuals and prior collaborations with Scott on Aggro Dr1ft and Circus Maximus, Korine’s latest project promises more cinematic chaos. A synopsis for the film reads: “Fast cars, bright lights and one shot to make it out. Jackboys 2 brings Travis Scott and the crew back into the fire – where every move echoes with risk.” No official release date has been announced for the film, but anticipation is mounting.
With new music, luxury gifts, and a global cast of collaborators, including the legendary Vybz Kartel—currently touring Europe with appearances at Wireless Festival and SummerJam—Travis Scott is orchestrating a multi-sensory rollout. Jackboys 2 is shaping up to be more than just a compilation; it’s a cultural moment in motion, fusing hip hop bravado, international flair, and high-octane visuals into one explosive package.
