Dancehall sensation Versi is set to make a major statement this summer with the release of his long-anticipated debut album, P.V.O. [Portland’s Very Own]. The 16-track set is poised to showcase his versatility and creative depth, with features from several dancehall heavyweights. The album is executively produced by Cawvinz Entertainment, with additional production from acclaimed names such as CJTheChemist, Din Din Hempton, Dinesty King and Billboard award-winning Kemar McGregor, among others.
“Fans have been asking for an album for quite some time, so I felt it was only right to give them a complete body of work,” said Versi. “I’ve spent years contributing to the careers of several renowned artistes, but now my focus is fully on my own journey. I’m always recording, and I have enough unreleased material to create multiple albums—this is just the beginning of many projects to come.”
The announcement comes on the heels of his recent debut performance at Miami’s Best of the Best festival, where he shared the stage with reggae and dancehall icons Buju Banton, Beres Hammond, and crowd favourite Romain Virgo.
Having been away from the local stage for the past six years, Versi expressed excitement about returning to Jamaica—not only to promote P.V.O. but also to reconnect with his cultural roots and loyal fan base. Now based in New York City, the artiste hinted that plans are underway for an official tour in support of the album.
“This project represents my growth, my story, and my connection to Portland—the place that made me who I am,” Versi shared.
