What happens when a Caribbean hitmaker reignites the flames of Dancehall? Enter “Fire Stick Riddim”—a blazing new project from The Carrzilla Effect, helmed by Iraqi “Carrzilla” Carr. Known for crafting standout productions that blend raw energy with lyrical prowess, the Jamaican-born, St. Lucia-based producer is setting the stage for another dominant run in 2025. Leading the charge is Kacique’s steamy new single, “Old Firestick,” a track designed to heat up both streaming charts and the streets.

Carrzilla, who has a knack for pairing top-tier riddims with artists who know how to deliver, believes “Fire Stick Riddim” is the perfect follow-up to his 2023 success, “Fret Not Riddim.” “I strongly believe in harmony being the sixth sense, and it is used a lot when it comes to making music,” he shared. With dancehall streaming numbers surging past 10 billion plays globally in 2024, the timing couldn’t be better for a riddim designed to capitalize on the genre’s growing demand. The project’s lead single, “Old Firestick,” is inspired by the well-known Caribbean proverb “Ole fire stick easy fi ketch,” and Kacique’s signature delivery adds fuel to the fire. The song captures the essence of reignited passion, making it a relatable anthem for anyone who has ever entertained an old flame.

The release strategy for “Fire Stick Riddim” is just as calculated as its creation. The official music video for “Old Firestick” drops on March 7 on Kacique’s YouTube channel, setting the tone for the full riddim compilation, which arrives later this month. Given Kacique’s proven track record of delivering hits that resonate with female audiences, Carrzilla is confident that this single will keep the conversation going all year long. “Picking the right Artists for the Riddim was carefully done, but having Kacique onboard made sense as he possesses a superb songwriting ability, solid melodies, and has a knack for crafting relatable lyrics that fit any production that’s thrown at him,” Carrzilla added.

As Dancehall continues to evolve, producers like Carrzilla remain pivotal in shaping its future. With streaming platforms dictating global trends, the success of “Fire Stick Riddim” will be a testament to how well Caribbean-rooted projects can captivate international audiences. Will this riddim become the soundtrack for Dancehall lovers in 2025? Fans won’t have to wait long to find out.
