Contemporary dancehall is experiencing a resurgence, and at the forefront are three standout talents: Dee Dre, Jayds, and Nordia Mothersille. Emerging from diverse corners of the genre, these artists have made undeniable strides in 2024, positioning themselves as acts to watch in the new year. With the backing of industry heavyweights like Aidonia and Notnice Records, they’re proving their mettle in a competitive landscape.

Dee Dre, a rising star under Aidonia’s 4th Genna camp, continues to make waves with his hit single Guh Hard, featuring Aidonia himself. The track’s official video has garnered over 155,000 views on YouTube since its release, with consistent growth on streaming platforms and social circuits. “This song is a statement, and I’m not stopping until it’s a hit,” Dee Dre confidently shared. His collaboration with Aidonia not only solidifies his credibility but also showcases his potential to stand alongside dancehall’s elite.

Meanwhile, Jayds, another 4th Genna standout, is building momentum with his latest single, Superstar. The video for the track has already surpassed 254,000 views on YouTube, a testament to his growing fan base. Following a strong year marked by his contributions to Aidonia’s Occupied Minds project and his own Dress Code Riddim, Jayds is gearing up to release a slew of new singles in 2025. His ability to balance roles as an artist and producer underscores his versatility and dedication to his craft.

Adding a different flavour to the mix, Nordia Mothersille, a Grammy-certified singer-songwriter, has carved her niche with a seamless blend of dancehall and R&B. Her debut EP, Broken Child, released under Notnice Records, debuted at No. 4 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Album Chart, reflecting her growing influence. The buzz around her single Ms. Honda is equally impressive, with the video amassing over 221,000 views on YouTube. “I’m overwhelmed with joy and gratitude,” Mothersille said of her breakout year. Her evocative storytelling and soulful voice have resonated deeply with audiences, solidifying her as a standout talent.

As 2025 approaches, Dee Dre, Jayds, and Nordia Mothersille are not just artists to watch—they’re pushing a new wave in dancehall. Their accomplishments in 2024 are a testament to their hard work and the growing appeal of their music, both locally and internationally. Whether it’s Dee Dre’s infectious energy, Jayds’ multifaceted artistry, or Mothersille’s soulful depth, these artists are setting the stage for an impactful year ahead.
