Kereena Beckford, a noted figure in the dancehall world and the guiding force behind her brother, dancehall star Alkaline, has attained a noteworthy milestone in her career. The artiste manager and entrepreneur recently graduated as valedictorian with a Master of Science in Entertainment Business from Florida’s Full Sail University. This achievement not only amplifies her expertise in the field but also signals her commitment to shaping the future of dancehall on a global scale. “I believe in the power of education—not only the practical aspects of entertainment but also the theoretical understanding that drives the industry forward,” Beckford expressed. Her academic accomplishment adds a new layer to her influence, further positioning her to expand dancehall’s reach worldwide.

Beckford’s professional and academic achievements set her apart as a key player in the entertainment industry. Following a Bachelor’s degree from LA Film School in 2023, her latest qualification, with a speciality in sports management, equips her to influence both entertainment and sports sectors. As manager to Alkaline, Beckford has played a crucial role in his ongoing success, with several of his albums dominating the Billboard Reggae Chart. Her production of the New Rules Festival has likewise raised the standard for event production in dancehall, attracting fans and setting a benchmark in fan engagement. “To compete at [a global] level, you need to understand the science behind the business. I aim to keep pushing boundaries and taking the industry to new heights,” Beckford added.

Her achievements align closely with a recent ripple in Alkaline’s international influence, boosted by an unexpected endorsement from Chelsea FC’s rising star Nicolas Jackson. In a recent social media post, Jackson was seen in the Chelsea changing room vibing to Alkaline’s hit “Mek Di Money (We Made It).” The track’s themes of triumph and resilience echo Jackson’s own journey, resonating with his fans and sparking fresh visibility for Alkaline in the sports arena.
