Reggae icon Buju Banton is set to ignite the U.S. music scene once again with his upcoming ‘The Overcomer Tour,’ kicking off on August 23 at the Amerant Bank Arena in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This announcement comes hot on the heels of his triumphant return to the stage with two sold-out concerts over the weekend at New York’s UBS Arena, marking his first U.S. performance in 13 years. Fans are eagerly anticipating the tour, which will cover 14 major cities, culminating on November 17 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The Grammy Award-winning artist’s tour is highly anticipated, especially given his recent success and growing discography since his release from federal prison in 2018. Partnering with AG Touring, Gargamel Music, and XO Management, Banton will be joined by three-time Grammy-nominated R&B singer-songwriter Fridayy as the special guest. Tickets are available for pre-sale starting July 16, with general sales beginning on July 19. “In each state of the United States of America, you have different synergy of people, different melting pot of ethnicities coming together,” Banton told Billboard, expressing his excitement for reconnecting with fans across the country.
