Kingsley Cooper, CD, the visionary founder of Pulse Investments Ltd, has passed away, as confirmed by the company. Cooper, who recently fell ill, was airlifted to the United States for treatment last week and passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening.
A Kingston College alumnus, Cooper established Pulse in 1980, marking Jamaica’s first venture into the fashion and general entertainment industry. Under his leadership, Pulse became a significant force, staging prestigious live concerts featuring top reggae, R&B, and pop music stars. Cooper’s efforts also secured modelling contracts for numerous young Jamaicans with some of the world’s leading fashion houses. His impact on Jamaica’s cultural and entertainment landscape was profound and far-reaching.
In addition to his contributions to the fashion and entertainment industries, Cooper played a pivotal role in launching Kingston College’s 100th-anniversary celebrations last December. Later in his career, he also became known for his investments in real estate, further diversifying his influence. His passing marks the end of an era for Jamaican fashion and entertainment, leaving behind a lasting legacy.
