Dancehall ‘John Wick,’ better known as Demarco, is ushering in a new chapter in his career as he leaves 2023 in the rearview. The deejay expresses his current focus on significant strides in both the business and music realms.
To kickstart his musical ventures this year, Demarco has collaborated with Tommy Lee Sparta on a track titled “Fireball.” This gritty street composition is poised to captivate audiences upon its release in the days ahead.
“I’ll be dropping something new with Tommy Lee Sparta, something for the streets, either later this week or early next week. Then, perhaps, a video might follow,” he revealed to Prism Marketing Consultants.
According to the “Bun Up” hitmaker, he is actively involved in securing distribution and other promotional aspects of the song. The collaborative release involves True Gift Entertainment, Producer Ajal, and Unity Entertainment.
Demarco acknowledges that the collaboration might catch many by surprise, as pairing these entertainers wasn’t initially envisioned. The connection, however, was established through a mutual friend keen on fostering a musical partnership between the two.
“There’s a mutual respect between me and Tommy Lee, but we’ve never worked together. A mutual friend suggested it, and I said, ‘Anything bad bro, just connect it up,’ and the rest is history.”
Reflecting on 2023, Demarco considers it a good year and anticipates an even better trajectory in the new year. When questioned about the STING 2023 clash controversy, he deemed the incident unfortunate but commended both acts for putting aside their differences.
“A lot happened, but I’m just glad the youths saw the bigger picture and understood it’s about music and unity.” Regarding Isaiah Laing not honouring his word for the initial clash, Demarco diplomatically expressed his well-wishes to the organizers.
With growing interest in his career, Demarco has experienced a surge in bookings and is already confirmed for various assignments, including a performance in Seychelles on March 1, 2024. The country is situated off the eastern coast of Africa.
