Dancehall star Masicka continues to make waves on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart with his latest release, “Generation of Kings,” securing the No.2 position. This accomplishment mirrors his previous effort, “438“, released in 2021, which also debuted and peaked at the same spot.
The sophomore set, marking Masicka’s debut with Def Jam Recordings, features 17 tracks and boasts collaborations with compatriots Chronic Law, Lila Ike, Popcaan, Fridayy, Fave Dexta Daps and Spice.
Notably, “Generation of Kings” extends its impact beyond the reggae genre, entering the Billboard Heatseekers chart at an impressive number 14. The album, released on December 1, 2023, has garnered significant attention in the US, selling 3,500 equivalent album units in its first week alone. This remarkable feat contributes to a cumulative total of 7,600 album equivalent units to date, showcasing Masicka’s enduring appeal.
