The FIX Podcast has been honoured with the prestigious 2023 MECA Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing their exceptional contributions to the entertainment podcast landscape in Jamaica and across the diaspora. The accolade was bestowed upon them during the 2nd Annual MECA Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. The organizers extended heartfelt congratulations on this well-deserved honour.
This recognition underscores The FIX Podcast’s outstanding work and its profound impact on the entertainment community. As arguably the Caribbean’s most prominent entertainment podcast, boasting over 500,000 subscribers across 12 platforms, THE FIX was previously selected in the “Best Podcast of the Year” category at the inaugural Marketplace Entertainment Centre for the Arts (MECA) Awards held last year at the popular nightspot on Constant Spring Road.
The MECA Awards serve as a notable acknowledgement for cultural influencers and entertainers, establishing it as an unmissable celebration. In an exclusive interview with Prism Marketing Consultants, cohost Naro expressed gratitude, stating, “We graciously accept this award and thank everyone who was instrumental in making this happen.”
According to the organizers, the MECA Awards provide a realistic representation of today’s industry, with their Kingston-based venue being a prime hotspot for Jamaica’s nightlife. This is evident from the array of global A-listers who frequent the space, including sprint legend Usain Bolt, football stars Leon Bailey and Raheem Sterling, NBA’s Kyle Kuzma, actor Michael Rainey Jr, and most recently, rap superstars Cardi B, Offset, and R&B star Trey Songz, among others.
