21 Savage’s journey from legal struggles to international mobility has taken a gratifying turn, as the rapper, whose real name is Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, has finally secured permanent U.S. residency, thus granting him the freedom to travel abroad. This newfound freedom is set to mark his triumphant return to his native London, where he plans to reignite his international performance career.

After a tumultuous period that included being taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in 2019, 21 Savage’s lawyer, Charles Kuck, confirmed his status as a lawful permanent resident of the United States. This announcement was accompanied by a touching montage of the rapper’s career and childhood memories, evoking a sense of nostalgia and anticipation for his return to the U.K.

Notably, this milestone paved the way for 21 Savage’s first-ever performance in London, a significant moment in his career. The rapper’s path to U.S. residency was anything but straightforward, as he had faced legal challenges over an expired visa stemming from his arrival in the U.S. as a child.

In a recent twist of fate, 21 Savage’s resurgence on the international scene led him to Jamaica, where he joined forces with dancehall star Popcaan. The two entertainers were seen partying together in a vibrant display of camaraderie, symbolizing the power of music to transcend borders. This visit to Jamaica, coinciding with his legal victory and return to performing, underlines the importance of being resilient.
