In Ruger’s own words, “I believe people will finally grasp a deeper understanding of who I am. Most of the time, I’ve refrained from discussing certain aspects of my life because I wasn’t ready to speak about them. Consequently, I felt misunderstood to some extent. This album allows me to share my thoughts and experiences, offering a comprehensive narrative behind everything I’ve done and what I’m currently engaged in.”
One of the standout tracks on this album is the breakout single “Asiwaju,” a collaboration with his long-time partner KukBeats. This track has already garnered over 100 million streams and reached No.3 on the U.K. Official Afrobeats Chart.
“RU The World” features 17 tracks, showcasing Ruger’s unique blend of Konto music, a fusion of Dancehall and Afrobeats. Apart from his collaboration with Kenya’s renowned band Sauti Sol, Ruger has also teamed up with Jamaican talents Govana and Projexx and Britain-based rapper Stefflon Don.
This album capitalizes on the immense talents of these Jamaican entertainers and showcases their willingness to step outside their traditional spaces. Govana’s appearance on “Likely” delves into Ruger’s unapologetic pursuit of fun.
