Dancehall artiste Andrew Davis, more popularly known as Flippa Moggela, recently sat down with the prevalent podcast “Let’s Be Honest” to address speculations that he’s allegedly a police informant or “snitch,” which many suggest could be the rationale for the rumoured tension between himself and fellow entertainer Mavado.

During a recent performance by Mavado at Alkaline’s New Rules Festival in New York, Flippa Moggela unexpectedly joined him on stage, attempting to interact with the Gully Gad. However, Mavado did not reciprocate and noticeably avoided Flippa, sparking rumours of a feud.

Flippa had previously directed a diss track at Mavado, and some speculated that their strained relationship was due to Flippa’s allegedly cooperating with U.S. authorities to reduce his prison sentence. The “Dem Yah” hitmaker was sentenced to 25 years but was released after serving only nine years and ten months.

He addressed these speculations, stating that he wasn’t deported but was paroled back into the United States after entering illegally. He denied being involved in drug trafficking and emphasized that he did not cooperate with authorities to secure his release. Instead, he focused on rehabilitation, education, and staying out of trouble while in prison.

The flamboyant entertainer also discussed his experiences in prison, including facing racism and alleged abuse by fellow inmates. Despite his past mistakes, he expressed a desire to make the most of his second chance and urged young talents to value their worth and not work for free, amid highlighting the lack of support from corporate sponsors.

Regarding the incident with Mavado, Flippa described it as a misunderstanding and expressed no ill will towards his fellow artist, underscoring the need to protect his freedom, as he is on parole until 2030.
