Grammy-Award-winning reggae vocalist Mykal Rose has unveiled his latest musical composition, “I Give You Love,” released on Friday, September 15. The 13-track set is a collaborative album with Donsome Records LLC, featuring notable artists Bounty Killer, Bugle, and Jahmiel.
In a statement, Rose shared the inspiration behind the album’s title, explaining that the songs are a reflection of his life experiences and the world’s current challenges. The album delves into various themes, including humanity, the struggles people face today, the high cost of living, social injustice, senseless violence, and matters of the heart.
Among the standout tracks on the album are “When Dem Ago Let We Go” featuring Jahmiel, “This World,” “World Crisis,” “Babylon Burning,” “I Give You Love” with Bugle, and “Steppin Like a Murderer” with Bounty Killer. Rose praised the collaboration with Adrian Hanson of Donsome Records LLC, likening his knowledge of music and understanding of today’s sound to iconic producers Sly and Robbie. Renowned musicians Roel Powell and St. Clair Connor also contributed to the project.
Mykal Rose is celebrated for his solo work and role in the Grammy-winning reggae group Black Uhuru. He gained fame for his lead vocals on chart-topping hits like “General Penitentiary,” “Sponji Reggae,” “Solidarity,” “What is Life,” and “Shine Eye Gal.” Notably, he reconnected with a younger audience with his 2007 song “Shoot Out,” produced by Lloyd ‘John John’ James, which became a local chart-topper.
“I Give You Love” is distributed by RhythmZZ Digital Distribution and is now available on all major distribution platforms worldwide, marking another significant milestone in Mykal Rose’s legendary career.
