Though the National Stadium in Kingston had a capacity crowd for last Sunday’s highly-publicised staging of the Chris Brown and Friends concert, many Jamaicans never got an opportunity to see the superstar in action.
However, on Tuesday afternoon, residents of Tivoli Garden got a front-row seat, photo ops and even coveted autographs from the American R&B superstar as he and his entourage, comprising of fellow entertainers Sean Kingston, Byron Messia and a heavy contingent of security detail invaded the innercity community for a video shoot.
A multitude of residents converged at the scene, their presence almost causing a gridlock around the artist as he navigated his way to the designated filming location. With locals perched atop buildings and staircases, the aim was to secure a superior vantage point to observe Brown in action.
Having spent several days in Jamaica since his arrival via private jet last week, Chris Brown is evidently embracing the Jamaican experience. His schedule has encompassed visits to various tourist attractions and popular nightspots, fostering connections with prominent figures within the entertainment fraternity, such as Popcaan, Ding Dong, Tommy Lee Sparta, and Valiant, among others.
The fervour surrounding Brown’s visit underscores his significant popularity in Jamaica, particularly resonating with the female populace.
