Fresh from a commendable performance at Barbados’ 2023 edition of Summa Fest last Saturday, dancehall luminary Masicka is primed to invade the National Stadium car park this weekend.
Currently commanding massive attention on the dancehall circuit, the “Tyrant” hitmaker and Dragon Stout brand ambassador is poised to seize the spotlight on Saturday, September 2, headlining the Streetz Festival. Masicka’s return to this stage is a significant moment, given that he hasn’t graced a Kingston concert platform for the past five years since Mega Vibes in 2019.
Previous editions of the Streetz Festival in Ocho Rios featured energised showcases by Ding Dong and Sky Juice from Metro Media, attracting gatherings of up to 5,000 and 7,000, respectively. A similar level of excellence is anticipated for the September 2 showcase. Attendees will not only be treated to Masicka’s lyrical prowess and expanding catalogue but also enjoy musical selections curated by Boom Boom, Shukkle Bus, ZJ Chrome, and Coppershot, all within the authentic essence of street-style dancehall.
Taking the festival to Kingston signifies the organisers’ ambition for a larger turnout and heightened patron support. Chad Williams, one of the festival’s directors, told Prism Marketing Consultants, “We are exceptionally proud of the success we’ve had with our last two stagings of Streetz in St. Ann, and we are looking forward to taking it to Kingston for our third staging.”
He extended gratitude to Dragon Stout for embracing their vision and becoming a significant partner. Williams affirmed Masicka’s enthusiasm to finally perform for his Kingston fanbase and promised an outstanding concert. He also assured patrons a top-tier event experience, including easy bar access and a secure, enjoyable environment for celebrating dancehall music.
As preparations unfold and fans’ excitement builds, Williams encouraged partygoers to stay updated by visiting the Instagram account @StreetzFestival for the latest updates and ticket information.
The Streetz Festival is scheduled to commence at 7 pm this Saturday at the National Stadium car park, with sponsorship courtesy of Dragon Stout, Pepsi, Willcom Creative, Elite Creations, and SMA Talent Agency, all contributing to the event’s vibrancy and success.
