Burna Boy, aka the African Giant, continues to make history on his world tour, captivating audiences worldwide. Following his groundbreaking show in the U.K., the Afrobeats sensation has now become the first African artist to sell out a stadium in the United States.

Taking the stage at the Citi Field in Queens, NY, the “Last Last” singer delivered a spectacular performance in front of a massive gathering with an estimated audience of over 41,000 persons. This remarkable feat comes just months after he made history as the first Nigerian artist to headline a U.S. Stadium tour in April.

During the sold-out show in New York, Burna Boy treated his fans to a memorable experience, bringing out U.K. rapper Dave and his sister to join him on stage. He performed his biggest hits and his new collaboration, “Stiin’ On Top Of The World” with Atlanta-based rapper 21 Savage. Additionally, he surprised the audience with a snippet of an unreleased song titled “Big 7.”

This year has been monumental for Burna Boy, solidifying his position as one of the most prominent and sought-after artists in the Afrobeats genre. With an exceptional rise in popularity and a massive global following, he has become one of the most streamed artists and a force to be reckoned with on the touring circuit.

While Afrobeats has experienced significant growth over the past decade, accumulating over 13 billion streams on Spotify alone in 2022, Burna Boy’s impact stands out. Alongside other influential artists, namely Wizkid and Davido, he has played a pivotal role in elevating the genre’s global recognition, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry.
