Veteran dancehall artist Mad Cobra, whose real name is Ewart Everton Brown, is facing serious legal troubles in the United States after a speeding violation led to a significant discovery by law enforcement officers.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon (July 25th) when Deputies from South Carolina’s Florence County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a Black BMW SUV for exceeding the speed limit on Interstate 95.
During the traffic stop, the officers developed reasonable suspicion of criminal activity and requested consent to search the entertainer’s vehicle. The search resulted in the discovery of two (2) kilos of cocaine and a Beretta 9mm pistol.
Mad Cobra, aged 55, of a Fort Lauderdale, Florida address, was subsequently arrested and charged with Drug/Trafficking in cocaine (S.C. Code Ann. 44-53-0370(e)(2)(e)) and Weapons/Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-0490). He is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center.
