Amidst the ban on his official Instagram account, dancehall icon Bounty Killer continues to engage with the dancehall community through his alternate account, @1unogeneral.Â
In a post on Monday evening, he provided an update on the funeral arrangements for his late friend and fellow dancehall artist, Boom Dandimite.
Accompanied by a photo featuring himself, Boom Dandimite and Beenie Man, along with other prominent figures within the industry, Bounty Killer shared the details in a lengthy caption. He announced that the funeral service for his beloved musical brother, Donovan Stewart, also known as Boom Dandimite, will be held on Sunday, July 2, at the Pennwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Pennwood Road in Waterhouse. The service will be followed by the burial at Meadow Rest funeral grounds.
Regarding the wake, attire, and decorum, Bounty emphasized the importance of respectful behaviour, stating that it is not a “dance or party”. He urged attendees to dress appropriately and keep in mind the solemnity of the occasion. Additionally, he mentioned that free transportation will be provided, with buses leaving from Seaview Gardens and Majestic Gardens at 10 am on Sunday morning.
The passing of Boom Dandimite in May, resulting from a relapse during his recovery from a car accident in Jamaica, has left the reggae and dancehall community mourning the loss of a talented artist. Boom Dandimite’s contributions to the industry will always be remembered, and his memory will undoubtedly endure in the hearts of all those who knew him.
