Best of the Best, the renowned Caribbean music festival held in Florida, has announced the postponement of its 2023 concert due to issues with US visas for some of the entertainers scheduled to perform. In an Instagram post, the event organisers apologised to their supporters for any inconvenience caused and confirmed that the festival will now take place on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

“On behalf of the organisers of Best of the Best music fest we would like to update all our Best of the Best festival goers that we have postponed this year’s staging and will commence on Sunday May 26, 2024,” – The post read.

The announcement has left some fans puzzled and speculating about the reasons behind the delay. Some have suggested that Afro Nation, featuring Burna Boy, Wiz Kid, Mavado, and others, which is also scheduled to occur around the same time (May 27 & 28), may have played a role in the decision.

However, the organisers have confirmed the postponement because many artists that supporters are keen to see do not currently hold the necessary work permits to perform in the US. In a statement, they explained that if they continued with this year’s staging, it would likely resemble similar shows from the past two years.

“Many of the artistes who our festival-goers are requesting to see and have some momentum in the music scene right now do not have their visas, so that is our reason why we have to postpone. If we [were] to keep this year’s staging, it would probably have to look like similar shows of the past two years. That’s the only reason,” – The organisers added.

While some supporters look forward to next year’s event, others are concerned that visa issues could impact other upcoming concerts.

Overall, the decision to postpone the event is disappointing for music fans, but the organisers have acted responsibly in prioritising the safety and compliance of their performers. The Best of the Best festival has a reputation for attracting some of the biggest names in Caribbean music. Supporters will no doubt be eagerly anticipating the event’s return in 2024.
