On Monday night, Falcon, a section of the Seaview Gardens community, was transformed into a celebrity hotspot as members of the reggae and dancehall community converged to pay tribute to Boom Dandimite, a fallen comrade.
The Nine Night, a wake that takes place nine days after the death of a person, carried on into the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Among the large gathering in attendance were Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Bugle, Bling Dawg, Sean Paul, Richie Stephens, Frisco Kid, Nitty Kutchie, Harry Toddler, General B and New Kidz, along with a host of disc jocks and other popular entertainment personalities. It was a heartwarming display of love and respect for the late entertainer.Notably absent from the occasion was former Scare Dem Crew member Elephant Man.
Speaking with Prism Marketing Consultants, a source close to the family expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support. The overwhelming attendance was a testament to how beloved Boom Dandimite was as a person. Although the family has not finalized a funeral date, arrangements are underway to fly the entertainer’s body back to Jamaica from the United States.
Boom Dandimite passed away in a US hospital after suffering a relapse during his recovery from a car accident in Jamaica last month. The reggae and dancehall community mourns the loss of a talented artist who significantly contributed to the industry. The Nine Night was a fitting tribute to the life and legacy of Boom Dandimite. His memory will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all those who knew him.
